Jesus, My Substitute
If He bore my sins, I do not need to bear them; If He bore my sin nature, I do not need to bear it; If He bore my infirmities, I do not need to carry them;-- If I DO bear them, then He died for naught.
So when I accepted Him as my Saviour, confessed Him as my Lord, and was baptized into His name, I was baptized into His name, I was baptized into His standing before the Father.
I was baptized into His righteousness that He wrought; I was baptized into His justification ; baptized into His health for the body, soul and spirit ; I was baptized into the victory that He had won over Satan ; I was baptized into all He means to the Father, and He died representatively for me.
As He representative up there, now, I am His representative here in the earth.
He has put me, and mine, and all the sin, that was in me, away, and He has given me all that was His ; all that He did, all that He was, so that "as He is now, so am I in this world."

Question:What is the cause of poverty in the life of a Christian? How can a Christian have a reserve before God?
Answer:In Revelation 3 the Lord said, "You are...poor" (v. 17). These words were addressed by Him to the church in Laodicea. This poverty implies that

PAUL HIMSELF
The message Paul preached was the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ. The message he preached was not in vain because he was a living channel of life. He was a crucified man! Only a crucified man can preach the crucified word. He had no confidence in himself. He did not rely on himself. Weakness, fear,…

THE MESSAGE PAUL PREACHED
The message Paul preached was the Lord Jesus Christ and Him crucified. The subject of his preaching was the cross of Christ and the crucified Christ. He did not know anything except this. If we forget the cross and do not make the cross and Christ our unique subject, how much will we and our audience miss! I believe that we are surely not those who do not preach the cross.
Our message and our subject may be good. However, do we not have the experience of having a good…

DEEP CALLS UNTO DEEP
Scripture Reading: Psa. 42:7; Mark 4:5-6; Isa. 39:1-6; 2 Cor. 12:1-4; Acts 5:1-5
Psalm 42:7 says, "Deep calls unto deep." Only a call from the depths can provoke a response from the depths. Nothing shallow can ever touch the depths, nor can anything superficial touch the inward parts. Only the deep will respond to the deep. Anything that does not issue from the depths cannot touch the depths. Others can respond deep within to only what issues from deep within us. When we go…
